Choosing a gas prop takes three measurements
1. Extended length
Center of socket to center of socket, with the prop fully open.
2. Force
Printed on the cylinder, often in newtons. Divide N by 4.448 for pounds.
3. End fittings
10 mm ball sockets on most caps and toolboxes; 13 mm on heavy tonneaus.
